Winner of the 2015 Best Food Market in Suffolk: BBC Radio 4 Food & Farming Awards

Best Market in Suffolk: EADT 2012 Food & Drink Awards

Lavenham Farmers' Market, officially the best market in Suffolk, is held on the fourth Sunday of every month in Lavenham Village Hall.

Like a phoenix rising from the ashes, Lavenham Farmers' Market has been turned around from the brink of closure to become the very best farmers' market in Suffolk. Today the market showcases over thirty five of the highest quality artisan producers in the region and attracts over 1,000 customers through the door each month.

Everything that is sold at the market comes from within a thirty mile radius with many traders travelling from the neighbouring towns and villages of Boxford, Sudbury, Boxted, Assington and Long Melford.

The range of produce includes fresh fruit & vegetables, locally baked, fresh bread, Suffolk beef, pork, lamb and venison, home baked cakes & pies, local eggs, home produced jams, pates & chutneys, fresh herbs, local sausages, locally baked gluten free products, smoked salmon and duck, Suffolk honey, fresh, oven ready game (during the shooting season) and a lovely selection of plants & flowers.

All the food at the market is grown, baked, brewed and butchered by the person who is selling it so that you, the customer can find out everything you want to know before you buy - there are no hidden surprises.

The fantastic kid friendly Farmers’ Cafe serves homemade soup, freshly baked quiche and cakes, Farmers’ Breakfasts & good quality coffee using local products direct from the market traders.

Workshops are also held, upstairs at Lavenham Farmers' Market covering a range of topics including chocolate making, pickling and preserving, foraging and jam making.
